Wolverines claw past Panthers to get fifth win in a row

Your Wakeland Wolverines barely clawed past the Panthers of Paschal by a score of 51-45 last Wednesday afternoon. It was a close game from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Junior Varsity Head Coach Blake Reedy commented in a post-game press conference, "the game was so exciting, that I was on the edge of my seat the entire time..., Coach Lewis had to hold me down a few times because I wanted to rush the court!" Sean Watkins took over the game in the last few minutes with an amazing tip in rebound that sealed the fate of the Panthers. Watkins had an impressive stat line with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Daniel Rentie added 11 points, 5 boards, and 3 steals, while Vashun Lusk windexed the glass 7 times. This extends the Wolverines winning streak to 5 in a row going into their District opener  against the Coyotes of Heritage on the eve of the new year. Wakeland's overall record is 8-9.
